What is carbon footprint & how can we reduce it?

Carbon Footprint is the total amount of greenhouse gases produced to directly and indirectly support human activities. This is typically expressed in tons of Carbon Dioxide (CO2)

Carbon Dioxide is emitted from the engine when you drive a car, when you heat your house with oil, gas or coal, and during the production of food and goods.

You can help reduce your carbon footprint in small simple ways, such as carpooling, turning the lights off when you leave a room, and reusing and recycling.

You can also take bigger steps, like reducing the amount of meat you eat, while purchasing more locally sourced whole foods, changing to more energy efficient light bulbs, and carrying around your own reusable grocery bags.

It's important to reduce your carbon footprint because CO2 is associated with Climate Change which has led to Global Warming.
